USDOE ranks SGTC as one of lowest net cost public two year colleges

South Georgia Technical College was ranked as one of the lowest net cost public two year colleges to attend in the United States by the U.S. Department of Education in their second annual college cost rankings recently.
“South Georgia Technical College is a great value,” said South Georgia Technical College President Sparky Reeves. “We may be one of the least expensive net cost U.S. two-year public colleges to attend, but we are also an exceptional college that provides an outstanding education for our students.”
For the past two years, the Department of Education has ranked public four-year and private four-year colleges and universities as well as public and private two-year colleges based on the highest tuition, highest net prices, lowest tuition, and lowest net prices.
The lists are required by the Higher Education Act’s 2008 renewal and are intended to provide students and parents with information on how college prices stack up while embarrassing colleges with the highest costs and biggest increases.
South Georgia Technical College was one of the leading two-year public colleges in the U.S. in lowest net price (what students pay, on average after loans and grants).

Ninety-nine percent of South Georgia Technical College students receive grant aid. The net cost to attend South Georgia Technical College is listed as $3291.
South Georgia Technical College offers students the “complete college experience” with over 90 different associate degree, diploma, and technical certificate of credit programs.

Most South Georgia Technical College students do qualify for the HOPE Grant, Scholarship or PELL Grant funding. The college also has a 99% job placement rate for graduates and offers students lifetime career placement services.
