Beginning fall semester, SGTC will be providing access to textbooks at no cost to students. “This is a new opportunity and one that could save students hundreds of dollars in book fees each semester,” explained South Georgia Technical College President Sparky Reeves. “The rising cost of college textbooks is a tremendous barrier for some individuals who want to attend college. By eliminating the cost of textbooks for students, we believe that we will open the door for some students who might be unable to attend college otherwise.” The free textbook offer for students applies to non-consumable items only. Students will still be responsible for purchasing workbooks, kits, tools, and other consumable items that may be required for specialty courses and programs.
South Georgia Technical College is currently registering students for Fall Semester 2012. Fall registration will be held on July 31st. To apply now and take advantage of the free textbooks for Fall Semester, contact the admissions office at South Georgia Technical College at 229-931-2394 in Americus or 229-271-4040 in Cordele.
