South GA fishermen win big at Fishermen for the Hungry Tournament | Community Spirit

LAKE BLACKSHEAR, GA – News release from Fishermen For The Hungry
Dwayne “Pie” Smith and Bobby Joe Underwood from Americus, GA took First Place (17.10 lbs) and BIG FISH (6.88 lbs) by fishing Jun Bug Trick Worms on trees, grass beds and stumps. Their efforts were rewarded with checks of $1000.00 and $300.00
Wayne Goff and Chris Jones from Ashburn, GA hooked up for Second Place (12.26 lbs) and received a check for $500.00
Al Cleghorn from Fitzgerald, GA and Clint Meeks from Plains, GA brought 11.60 lbs to the scales and earned a Third Place check for $400.00
Danny Blount from Perry, GA and Greg Kilgore from Gray, GA took Fourth Place and a check for $300.00 with 11.34 lbs
Fifth Place and a check for $200.00 went to George Haynie of Cordele, GA.
Tim Rockett and Jessie Ivey teamed up for Sixth Place and earned at check for $100.00
33 Teams fished, 59 fish were weighed in for a total weight for the day of 133.58 lbs and 100% were released alive to compete in future “FFTH” tournaments.
$2,800.00 was paid back to our fishermen.
Our next Fishermen For The Hungry tournament is September 8th on Lake Blackshear out of RAD’Z Bar-B-Q landing and we sincerely hope to see all of our fishermen there helping us to REEL IN HUNGER.
