NHBC distributes more than $23,000 of food to Crisp Co. community

CRISP COUNTY, GA – Northern Heights Baptist Church and the Branch of the Second Harvest distributed $23,100 dollars worth of groceries to people within the community Saturday, January 21.

A total of 825 cases of groceries were given away and at least 60 volunteers were on hand to help with this very special project.

Attempted murder-suicide in Wilcox County

Wilcox Co.-

Investigators say a man shot his girlfriend in the head and neck Monday night then shot and killed himself.

The woman, Renea Kinsey, survived and is hospitalized in Macon.

The gunman, 45-year-old Terry Lewis Oxyer, died at their mobile home on Tippettville Road in Pineview.

Relatives tell WALB the couple argued earlier in the day and that Oxyer threatened Kinsey with a gun.

Men in jail after hotel robbery

CORDELE, GA-

Two Pennsylvania men remain in the Crisp County jail after robbing a Ramada Inn in Cordele at gunpoint Sunday night. The two got away with a couple of hundreds of dollars but not for long.

When 20-year-old demanded money from the clerk at the Ramada, she thought it was a joke but soon found out the robber was very serious.
